Moving Slow

Moving slow Watch the way her colours grow
Sees herself in lunar lines Watch the way her dreams collide
She was thinking about someone she talked to On the way back from the north Kelsey Moor

Air ferments eucalyptus sweet Seagulls screeching and seagulls swoopin
Like dogs on the beach hair full of sand Grinding in spirals to the lay of the land

She was movin slow Watch the way the colours grow
Movin slow Movin slow
By the light of Arcadian moon
By the light of Arcadian moon

Shadows grow on this old northern town
The final light sets her hair on fire
She whispers something I can hardly hear
Then she’s gone then she’s gone

She was movin slow Watch the way her colours grow
She was movin slow she was movin slow
By the light of Arcadian moon
By the light of Arcadian moon

My Satellite

Down from above she came a bright burning star
Her womanly virtues entrancing my spark to her fire

Sweet are her lillies, her touch in the first morning light
Floating all over her world, she’s my satellite

From Whitby to Arundel Montreuil to IonaBay
Some of the places prefacing where we are today

Sweet are her lillies, her touch in the first morning light
Floating all over her world, she’s my satellite

Galveston Girl

The wind’s been chasing empty coffee cups
By the stinking restroom at the greyhound stop
The freezing rain spits down…..across her face
She finds her precious little wrap
Pours it out in the middle of a crumpled map
Sometimes that girl just needs .. a little start

Her rollercoaster with the wild lifeguard
Left her heading down, it hit her hard
She knows she ain’t coming back
She’s just a Galveston girl

Her mobile showing just a couple of things
A Texan loan shark wants to pawn her rings
Her signal getting low, she knows she wont recharge
She got a monkey scratching on her back

She give a thumb to a dude with a cadillac
Where you going babe, it don’t matter
Just take me any place

Her rollercoaster with the wild lifeguard
Left her heading down, it hit her hard
She knows she ain’t coming back
She’s just a Galveston girl

The wind’s been chasing empty coffee cups
By the stinking restroom at the greyhound stop
Sometimes that girl just needs….a little start

You Handled It Well

Guess you could not tell me I don’t think that you felt it was right
We rolled and smoked, but we hardly spoke
It was 4.29 in the night You know it’s not easy loving
When you’re doing, your touring in hell

But darling, oh darling, you handled it well
You said you heard those voices
I don’t think that you felt it was right
Down on the Gypsy Hill
You said you’d rather be alone for the fight

You fought the fear of losing Like a sunrise, like a fire, like a spell

But darling, oh darling, you handled it well

Say hi to your mama the boy's doing fine
You’ve been out running you’re looking good But oh Jesus .... is that the time?

You fought the fear of losing like a sunrise, like a fire, like a spell
But darling, oh darling, you handled it well
